Happy HUMP day

Ah finally done with the chaos of this week! Yay no more midterms or quizzes til next week. It's crazy, I'm only in my 4th week and there are only 7 weeks left. Juggling work and school has been OK so far. The classes don't seem all THAT demanding, but I do wish I had more time to work (make more money). I feel soooo broke. Please pray that I win the lotto soon..thanks =)

Man, it's 730pm and I'm still at work. =( Now I know how you feel when you get off this late. I had to go to school earlier this morning to observe at the speech clinic for one of my classes. What a long day...I drove to school, observed for two hours, had class right after, then drove back here for work. The observation was pretty interesting though. I observed a 62 year old man who had suffered a stroke about 2 years ago and a 2 year old boy diagnosed with Austim. It was pretty interesting to watch how the SLP was interacting with her clients. She was doing organizational and memory exercises with the older man and with the little boy she was trying to get him to pronounce speech sounds like "M". The little boy was SO cute.

The meeting I went to last week was about working in the LA Unified School District. The perks SEEM pretty good, but I'm not sure if that's where I want to work. Usually a hospital setting depresses people, but for me I think a school setting depresses me more. hahah maybe it's because I tutored those kids after I graduated. I swear those kids scarred me for life. Right now I'm leaning more towards working in the hospital setting and I want to focus more on the function of the throat and how it's affected by developmental or acquired disorders. I'm also kind of interested in audiology as well, but I guess we'll see as I take my classes. Still got about a year to figure it all out!

So how's your day going/ how has your week been? Any plans for the weekend? More photoshoots and blogging? =) I'm sad to hear that Connie is moving back down to socal, I know you were really excited that she had moved up there. Also sorry to hear that her and Mark broke up, I hope she's okay, but I guess from what you've written, it was for the better. =/
I'm taking the day off on Friday and going down to Irvine...wedding dress shopping with Michelle. Did I tell you she got engaged?? If not, she's engaged! hahah it happened about 2 months ago. Around Christmas time...I'm pretty excited to go with her. Even though I've been a bridesmaid 3 times I've never gone wedding dress shopping with the soon to be bride. Then hang out with Phil and study for the rest of the weekend, maybe play some tennis. We've both been watching the Australian Open, it got us PUMPED. hhah jk but it does make me wanna play.

Anyways, time to head to Trader Joe's and home. Oh, if you ever go to Trader Joe's, there's this Italian red wine that's really good. It's sweet in the beginning and the after taste is like a full bodied Cabernet Sauvignon. I think its called epicure? I'll check later and let you know! =)

blah its only Tuesday!

Vicvic! Sorry this is gonna be a quick short update. At work right now, but I've been super busy studying for midterms. I had a midterm yesterday, one today, then a quiz tomorrow, and another midterm and quiz next Wednesday and Thursday. GAH! Wish me luck =)

I just got a chance to finally take a look at your blog! I love all the pictures of you lounging around with those wayfarer glasses. So pretty! I can't wait to see your coffee shop one and Connie of San Francisco! They both sound like super cute blog themes...along with your Vday idea. Are you going to take pictures or shoot a little video of what the random people say?

I'm so sorry to hear about work and the lame German boss, but I think you're right when you say that this will help you move on when the time is right. I always hear about people wanting to quit a job they know isn't right for them, but they end up staying because the incentives are too good to give up. I'm so happy that you found something that you've been able to really enjoy and focus on during your time away from work. It's like you finally found an outlet for all the creativity you've had pent up inside of you these past two years. And when the lounging around for a month or two or three begins..you better come down to visit! =)

Anyways, I'll finish this update later tonight! Hope you have a good rest of the day!

MLK day and BOOTS

Hey Katherine! Happy MLK day! I am stuck in San Jose, and now waiting for Chris to finish work at That's a Grind coffee shop. The internet sucks here! I've been trying to find boots for you, but the stupid internet cuts me off. Anyhow, I haven't done much over this weekend, but I think that's a good thing sometimes. The weather was awesome in San Jose, nothing but sunshine and warm afternoons, which is nice change for the usual overcast of San Francisco. I was going to go to SF and start taking photos for a new SnazzyFRESH Valentine's day-themed post- Chris has these heart-shaped sunglasses and I was going to get random snazzy-dressed people on the street to pose in them, and to record them saying what they want for Valentine's day. I guess I will do that some other day.

By the way, those rainboots are so cute! I had my eye on a pair like that awhile back. If you want to find better deals or different options, you should look into rubber riding boots. They are what people wear to do horse-back riding when, I'm guessing, they don't want to ruin expensive leather riding boots.

These ones are from an online store called Adam's Horse Supply and they are only $35! They almost look like regular tall leather boots, and they've got an elastic band for easy on and off. Hmm.....I just might get myself a pair of these.

Here are a couple other boots that I thought were pretty cute and reasonably priced for genuine leather boots.

I'm not sure these are considered combat boots, but they look pretty cool and comfy! They're from Nine West, made of real leather, plus come out to be about $45 with an additional 50% OFF that they give at the checkout.

These "Kelsi Dagger Bronte" boots are from DSW, and are bit on the pricier side at around $100, but are marked down from original $170. Also leather.

These "Zigi Soho Mixer Boot" is a taller boot that are also from DSW, and are pretty reasonably priced at $70 for being made of leather and a rating of 4 out 5 stars by online reviewers.
Anyway, I think it's really cool that you are trying to get involved with the student body, meeting people, and going to these social events. Maybe you can meet people that you can have study groups with or just grab a beer with after class! Nerdy is cool! I am proud that you are following through with your plans of becoming a speech pathologist, taking out a loan on your own, and making your dreams come true. How's your second? third? week of school been like, especially with balancing work? Meet any cool people? What are the career paths in speech pathology?

I just did two photoshoots within the last couple days here in San Francisco- one a this coffee shop that serves alcohol and another at the California Academy Sciences Night Life! For the one at the coffee shop, I made the bartender/barista pose as witch/cupid who mixes drinks that makes two lonesome customers fall in love. And for the CAS Night Life, I made Connie pose as "Carmen San Diego" except "Connie San Francisco" and go around the museum being chased by people. You remember the show "Where in the World is Carmen San Diego"? Yea, haha, something like that! I can't wait to show you the final products!

By the way, I'm probably not going to get that raise at work. Through the grapevine, I found out my boss has weird German standards. But it doesn't matter. It gives me more reason to leave, and move on with life. It sucks, but I think I would have been less likely to try and get out of there sooner. I think once I decide to quit this job, I will take a break for a month or two and do nothing else but blog and photo-shoots. Until then, I shall try and make the most out this job. Egh.

Today, I took Chris's cousin and gf around the city. The day before I went to the night life thing. To mix things up a bit, I even went to a tranny bar, but there weren't that many trannies unfortunately (for me at least, hahah) And then it was all work, and sleepiness, and grocery shopping...blahblahblah. Sorry for taking forever and day to update you!

Oh and Connie is moving back to Rancho Cucamonga by the end of the month. She broke up with Mark. Long story short, it was best for her, and she's happy to go back home. Tell you more about it later.

Hopefully, I will see your update soon or talk to you soon!

Parkas and Boots Galore

OoO it looks warm! If you really like this then you should get it, especially since SF is getting really cold. I don't think it's a stupid trend, just as long as you find one that's versatile enough. Do you think you'll wear this one often or are you only going to wear this with your flannel shirt? hahah  =)
I've been trying to look for parkas for you, but I haven't come across any that I reallyyyyy like. I shall keep looking!
So, I really wanna get some boots, but I haven't seen any that I just HAVE to have. I kinda want some combat boots, mid-calf boots (flat/heel), and some knee high boots (heels). I've got boot fever! hahah so three types of boots and I can't find any that are up to standard! ;)

*edit*
AND rain boots!! Check this baby out! Best of all its not shiny, I don't really like the shiny looking rain boots. What do you think?

My week has been okay so far. It's the second week of school plus work so even though I'm busy, the week seems to be going by super slow. It felt like it should have been a Friday when it was only a Tuesday hahah. I even went to this little mixer thing this week...you know try to get more involved/be social/network/find a friend/blah blah. It was like a meet and greet the Dean and mingle with fellow students sort of thing. It was alright, I sat and talked to some students who came for the free hot chocolate then met the Dean and talked for like a minute then I left. Next week I'm gonna go to this event with a guest speaker who's going to talk about the possible career paths for people in my program. Gah I feel nerdy.

How's your week going? Any fun plans for the long weekend? I don't think I have the day off on Monday, but I'll probably just work a half day since I don't have class. =)

Last attempt at the Parka hunt and I'm sticking with the plain black peacoat for the rest of winter....

How about this parka? It's a bit more expensive than the one from Express...but it's made of a lined nylon material instead of cloth and the reviews says it's pretty warm...and SF is getting hella cold...hahahh.

It's from here.

Or do you think it's a stupid trend that I will probably get tired of?

How's your week so far? Monday is MLK day so no work for me! Thank you Martin! What about you?

Nay...

...because I can't see the picture of the outfit! It might be just me though. I've only worn parkas during swim meets so I've never really thought of actually looking for a stylish one. I do have to say though...the one from express looks a little mom-ish with all those drawstrings hanging from every which way. =(

How about this one from Urban Outfitters ? It's around the same price ($79 on sale from $139) and in my opinion it looks more like your style...it's got a plaid-lined hood! =) I don't think its actually a parka, but it looks like one! I like the tan one more so than the black. What do you think? Shall we continue on with the parka search?

<3 K

Yay or Nay?

I kinda want a parka, what do you think of this one from Express ? It´s on sale for 70 bucks as opposed to the original 170 price tag.

Still on the hunt to find pieces for this outfit (The Sartorialist). So far I´ve got the red plaid boys shirt from Target, and currently wearing it to death cuz plaid isn´t overplayed already hahha.

:)V

UPDATE: Haha crap, totally didn't realize until now. Ok here it is!

Vicvic!

Cheers to a new beginning...may we have the best adventures whether it is together or separate!
